And loaded this game up--and really had issues figuring out the controls.
It really does not help that the icons that Playstation games use to indicate which buttons to use tend to be made of large amounts of fail.
Typically I do not have the same control issues with most games on the Wii, Gamecube, 360, SNES, NES GBA, GB and NDS as I have on two of the three Playstation games I have played so far (that other one? Yeah... it was GI Joe, Rise of the Cobra. Will be adding a Game Play entry shortly on that one).
So--I am merely going to assume it is a paradigm shift of some sort.
Though based on how easy it was to control TMNT Smashed Up, in comparison to the issues I had with MGS: Twin Snakes (which I have stopped playing, as I have yet to figure out how to control the elevator. Clearly Snake does not have a simple way to simply press a button)--this does not bode well for my enjoyment of the rest of the Metal Gear series.
Maybe I will just load up Escape from NY/LA whenever I want to get a fix of this, perhaps? As well--so far, that ability to control Snake Solid in these games, seems to be a rough equivalent to the people in charge of Snake Plisken trying to control him in the Escape From X movies. I mean--having a control scheme, that so far, appears completely unworkable is a marvelous translation of this effect.
