In the famous words of the avian from another furry series Falco, "this is horrifying".
The voice acting is the worst I have heard in a Sonic game in a long time. It starts off in a rather overly long FMV sequence (uh--SEGA, I thought you learned your lesson here... guess you did not)--which I found myself kind of wanting to join in at quit a few moments. After a small enternity of watching the game be played for me--I started to wonder if I was still on the Demo Screen. I mean, I was fairly certain that I had selected all the menu options to play this game... though, I may very well have been mistaken.
Anyways, I go, make myself a small snack. Chat with some friends online--and return. The FMV has nearly ended and I can start playing the game.
You know--I must admit, it is nice to see that SEGA has decided not to go for big name talents when doing the voice overs. Though, I would have preferred if they had gone with somebody who at least had talent.
So--the first mission... figure out where Eggman went. Oooohkay--well, I suppose that is slightly more proactive than waiting for him to enslave all the animals in the forest... or something. Okay--now I need to head to that beach, across that long string of rings that I should be able to use an ability to--wait... what do you mean I need to buy it?
Okay, I know keeping my braincells will never be the ultimate in cool--but this is an ability that Sonic has gotten in most of the previous 3d games. However, I have to head to the shop to buy it?
Well--I guess even Sonic needs to pawn off a few items these days. I mean, he is not at his best moments right now.. Okay--I need 100 Rings to grab it.
Okay, a quick running around shows no rings to speak of (apart from three that I can grab without getting wet), and no way to rob the shop for an ability that I really have no idea why I do not have already.
This game has earned the esteemed right and priviledge, to sit on my shelf, and never be played again.
