Oh Snap--Pokemon Gen 5

havn't cared about pokemon since like grade 6 lol

What I liked about Gold/Silver was teaming up with Lance to take out team rocket, then you end up facing against him at the end of the Elite Four. That was awesome, hope they can do something like that - and bring back the cell phone :)

I missed people calling me so I could whoop on them again.

Actually scratch that - I want a Pokemon game where YOU CAN BE TEAM ROCKET

@bettadud that has been a requested feature since people played the Nugget Bridge portion of the Gen 1 games.

And yes, it would be nice, if you could join one of the following teams:
* Team Rocket
* The Neo Rockets (Post Giovanni Team Rocket, lled by the Man in the Ice Mask)
* Team Magma
* Team Aqua
* Team Snag'em
* Team Galactic
* Team Ambar (actually, nobody wants to join those circus freaks)
* Cipher
* Team Helicopter (from the tv show)
* Team Airplace (from the Tv Show)
* Team Dim Sun
* The Rocket offshoot in Fiore
* Gen 5's Team Badguy

This is right up there with requests to be a gym leader in these games.

In short they were a group of morons who were being misguided by their leader. Cyrus even flat out tells you that he was merely using Team Galactic to destroy this universe and create one for him and him only.

And considering most of their actions in Platinum (been too long since I went through Pearl) they generally seemed very--well, easily led. And easy to screw up where they are being led.

I think Pokemon could use a reboot. Make it an alternate dimension or something. Completely new roster of pokemon, and work from there

@Jackel585 well--that was kind of what Gen 3 was starting off with--more or less,

I mean--this is part of why I say that Gen 1 and Gen 2 are from a "Pokemon Appearing" Timeline. Gen 3 and Gen 4 are from the "Celebi's Temporal Paradox" timeline. It may very well end up having it so that Gen 5, enters into a new time line.

What happens are in Gen 1, pokemon are new to the world. They largely are unknown. Generally with 151 that they are fully aware of. With Pokemon existing Kanto and surrounding areas. As well, as some special preserves (like where Todd Snap was sent to).

Gen 2 comes, and more appear. They even start appearing to show some signs of reproduction--which needs to be studied. Also the "Steel" and "Dark" types appear. Which were unknown before to anybody. Enough that Magnemite and Magneton get reclassified as Steel types. The world is almost completely discovered--when number 251 appears... Celebi.

The games in that go with RYGB happening, followed by GSC.

Gen 3 comes along. We are greeted with Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Except, this series of events takes place at the same time as RYGB. Along side it. Eggs are known about in RSE and appear in the Gen 1 remakes, FR and LG. The Steel and Dark types are not thought of or considered new in any meaningful way.

Gen 4 comes out with Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, which happens just slightly before the events of GSC. With another important member added to the cast--Dialga. A Pantheon of the flow of time.

With Heart Gold and Soul Silver occurring shortly after.

Which kind of has me suspecting that Gen 5, will result in another temporal loop occurring, with the events of Gen 5, occuring at the same time as Gen 1 and Gen 3. Followed by Gen 6 occuring along with Gen 2 and Gen 4. With yet another time travel Pokemon appearing in Gen 6.

So.. yeah--just my crazy conspiracy theory of Celebi, Dialga and whatever the Gen 6 time Pokemon is resetting a fair amount of continuity each time.

As per the new Pokemon Roster: not going to work. People have too many favourites from Gens 1 through 4. And there would inevitably be bitching no matter what got cut (as I can guarantee that Pikachu would appear after the reset. Beating Clefairy as the series mascot).

I think the next setting should be after a great pokemon war! All of the nations are toppled and only wasteland remains. Mutated pokemon, raiders, zombies, and radiation (magical pokemon radiation!) make the world a dangerous place to live. You emerge from a vault, sent to go find water and/or train pokemon or something. Before you leave, a wise professor stops you and gives you one of his last remaining pokemon to protect you on your journey. Without your new companion, you would perish in the wastes. You battle for survival and to gain the respect of the Gym leaders, the leaders of the final bastions of humanity that dot the landscape. Can you unite them? Can you save your people? Can you CATCH EM ALL!?

Heh--funny you mention that, @SilverJacketMan . There was a comic somewhere that suggested that Pokemon actually resulted from a nuclear war occurring. Having issues finding it >.>'

Hah! Shows what you know. Confusing Monster Rancher with Pokemon! I mean, only a noob mixes up Monster Hunter with Persona--er...

I think we were talking about tamagatchis or something. Maybe Neopets? Psh, whatever, all I know is that I like semi-sentient monsters that may or may not fit in my pocket!

Persona is a billion times better in so many ways, but yeah, pokemon can be a nice little diversion.

I think a great pokemon game is when the pokemon realize that they are being used to fight people stupid petty battles and ALL the pokemon turn on their trainers and finally fight for their freedom!
So it will be like left for dead style where you are surviving hordes of pokemon and trying to make it to the top of the pokemon center to be helicoptered to an island where no pokemon exist!

@Jwallwalrus Yeah--if Pokemon were to turn on the humans.. humans would be dead... here is some of the more horrible Pokemon facts.

This is without taking into account facts brought about in Gen 4.
