Ah, yes, the infamous remake of the gen 1 Pokemon games. Most people found it harder this time around, with Gen 3 rules being put into place. Though, I admit, I find it easier than the Gen 1 games. As the typing systems are not nearly as broken and the move pools are just a little bit more decent.

Mostly I play this, as the Celadon Department Store has a fair amount of unique TMs to it. Then there are also the easy to access natured Dittos I kind of want to grab in it as well. As well, just east of Fushia City is a route with easy to get Dittos. Emerald requires the nationaldex and one of the fossils. Diamond and Pearl require the Poke Radar. Platinum requires the Trophy Garden to have them. So, yeah--those two reasons make this game a little more appealing.
